At EquiTread Los Angeles, our In-Patient Rehabilitation program provides a controlled, therapeutic environment for horses requiring extended medical recovery. Located within the secure grounds of Hansen Dam Horse Park, our facility goes beyond standard housing to offer 24-hour monitoring and professional oversight, ensuring strict adherence to veterinary protocols. We provide a safe, managed setting where medication administration, nutritional support, and injury prevention are prioritized to bridge the gap between hospitalization and a return to full function.

In Patient Care Facilities

Our facility provides secure in-patient housing configured for safe recovery, featuring two sizes of therapeutic suites (12’x12’ and 12’x16’) to accommodate patient mobility and size requirements. The treatment wing includes dedicated prep stations and sanitization areas positioned immediately adjacent to the housing, minimizing travel distance to ensure controlled handling during daily rehabilitation protocols.

As part of the EquiTread rehabilitation program, patients have access to specialized facility resources designed to support prescribed movement protocols:

Mechanical Free-Motion Walker: utilized for regulated, low-impact gait training to encourage rhythm and consistency without the weight of a rider.
Restricted Outdoor Enclosures: dedicated turn-out spaces that allow for safe exposure to fresh air and mental stimulation while limiting excessive speed or torque on recovering limbs.
Controlled Surface Areas: Access to multiple footing types (sand and grass) for hand-walking protocols, proprioceptive groundwork, and graduated return-to-work plans in a managed environment.
